A Door of Hope International
After working with women for ten years, Kristen Kellett, the founder of A Door of Hope Ministries, saw the need to have a safe place for women to recover from trauma. She felt that without a safe place to go, these women were at risk of going back into addiction, back on the streets, back into domestic violence, back into human trafficking, incarceration, or worse, end up dead.
In 2012, Kristen opened A Door of Hope Ministries, a non-profit organization that served women in the community by providing free services such as counseling, support groups, food, clothing, and baby items.
In 2015, Kristen launched Keeping It REAL, a local Christian talk show which aired on Fox 44, inviting guests to share their stories which sparked hope in the community.
In 2015, Kristen Kellett, then Maddox, received the Angel Award through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, A Door of Hope was awarded $20,000 towards their work with at risk youth.
In 2021, A Door of Hope closed its doors in Louisiana and soon after opened up a new chapter. Kristen's dream of reaching a multitude of survivors can now go from coast to coast.
In January 2023, Kristen and her husband, Jimmy Kellett, launched SCARS, Survivors Carry A Real Story. A dynamic training on the insight of trauma survivors. Together they are bringing trauma awareness to those with a heart for working with trauma survivors in the US and worldwide! Which is now known as...A Door of Hope International.
